Padel Setiabudi emerges from a hypothesis: “Can a sports-driven business model unite community, commerce, and leisure in one high-performance urban venue?” Located in the heart of Jakarta, this project blends two professional padel courts with a multi-level F&B experience, anchored in climate-conscious design and urban hospitality.

What began as a request for two courts quickly evolved into a deeper spatial investigation. Through collaborative studies, the design responds to site limitations by proposing a single-story structure for the courts and a two-level F&B pavilion. This strategy preserves open air flow, reduces construction complexity, and amplifies user experience.

The courts are carefully positioned to the east-west axis, enabling soft climatic filtering via layered walls of brick, perforated panels, and Sukabumi stone—balancing thermal comfort with texture and tactility. Natural ventilation flows across the court space, refined through airflow simulations, ensuring cool play conditions without mechanical intervention.

The arrival sequence is intentionally gentle. Visitors enter through a foyer-exhibition space, combining a mini-museum and merchandising hub that softly introduces the brand story. There are no hard walls at the entrance—instead, translucent glass and polycarbonate panels dissolve thresholds, creating a seamless transition between street, spectator zone, and court.

A subtle yet effective layer of spatial security exists—through controlled entry zones and a visual connection rather than physical separation. In the rear, a dedicated back-of-house kitchen structure supports the F&B functions with operational clarity. A discreet service block—housing toilets, showers, and lockers—is tucked away, maintaining clean sightlines while meeting practical needs.

Within the open court area, seating is embedded into the environment: a mix of fixed and semi-permanent elements, forming a relaxed social bar at the heart of the venue. This open, energized space invites gathering—whether you’re playing, spectating, or simply enjoying the ambiance.

More than a venue, Padel Setiabudi is a platform for community and lifestyle, hosting sport, casual dining, and cultural moments under one unified identity. Developed in collaboration with Maggiore, one of Spain’s most prestigious padel brands, this project brings global excellence to local ground—bridging high-performance sport with Jakarta’s dynamic social scene.
