School of Notredame emerges from a hypothesis: “Can a safe, free environment spark lifelong learning for kids?” Our answer is a pedestrian-friendly superblock masterplan, designed with a microclimate to cradle Kindergarten through Senior High School. A divine axis splits the site into four zones, converging at a central meeting point—a car-free heart where students gather, pray, and reflect. This superblock ensures an internal pedestrian haven, prioritizing safety and freedom.
Completed as a masterplan in 2014, the design balances bioclimatic comfort with nurturing creativity. The experience shapes our approach to schools across scales, embedding safety, sustainability, and soulful spaces. School of Notredame proves a thoughtfully zoned superblock can foster lifelong learning in a secure, inspiring environment.
